I am actually more of an accidental dog trainer. Even though I have had a strong interest in animals, especially dogs, since I was a little boy, my mother would never let me have a dog. Citing reasons like my sinus and asthma, I only managed to get a dog of my own when I did my undergraduate studies in New South Wales, Australia.

Being a student without too many friends in a new place, I volunteered at the Sydney Dogs Home (Now renamed as the Sydney Dogs And Cats Home). At the SDH, I learned a lot from the other volunteers as well as professionals who frequented the place. I also ended up fostering my first dog, Princess - an Alaskan Malamute. Subsequently, when I had to return to Singapore upon the completion of my studies, I adopted her formally and brought her back. Unfortunately, she passed away within 2 years after coming to Singapore due to osteosarcoma (bone cancer).

Principle Trainer - Low Kok Choon (Low)

My current dog, Lucky, was a rescue from a pet shop that was closed down by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) due to the abuse of the animals. At around 3+ years old, he was an aggressive dog with a bad attitude!!! He was quite uncontrollable and got into lots of trouble, the worst being ripping a 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier open in the abdomen area, exposing the intestines. Luckily, we managed to get the JRT to a vet in time and he survived. I realised that we needed professional help! This came from my mentors - Mr Christopher Choo and Mr Bernard Chung!

I enrolled Lucky in a Basic Obedience Course with Companion Dog Trainers under the guidance of my mentors. Training Lucky was a challenge which proved to be most rewarding. Due to my interest in dog training, we subsequently went on with Intermediate and Advance Obedience Courses. My mentors noticed my enthusiasm and invited me to serve as an apprentice and assist them in the training. I realised that I have finally found my calling in which I now use the training that I picked up to help other dogs.

In 2009, Lucky was awarded his Companion Dog (CD) title after qualifying in the Open Class Obedience Trials. In 2011, my mentors decided that they would like to semi-retire and they subsequently transferred Companion Dog Trainers over to my management. 2016 - Lucky is now a 13+ years old retired title holder who helps me with behavioral modification and socialisation of other dogs.
